PART II

"BALIKHAAN" is an old Tagalog term, which means regeneration. It is rebirth or restoration through the internal processes of a body or system. It refers to the self-healing capacity of humans, the faculty to recover from disturbances, and the ability to bounce back to attain homeostasis.

In a figurative sense, it is the innate restorative capacities of the physical body. Spiritually, it is the transformation, renovation, and conversion of a person into someone with a renewed mind.

Sociologically, it is the process of tackling the social problems that lead to deprivation, such as crime, drugs, poverty, social exclusion, and other issues experiences by communities.

In the grand recital, Jarmonya Maquiling Ballet aims to promote awareness through contemporary dances of the melees and socio-political issues faced particularly by one of the indigenous peoples, who may have been less noticed than other IP's, the B'laans. Such renewal of mind is hoped to create a feeling of being quickened to restitute all things for the new generations to come.
